Why You Should Have Social Media

Mckenzie Holder • August 13, 2020

While having a personal website to show off unique styles and ideas is great, having a social media account boosts organic and natural engagement.

Social media is consumed at an increasingly high rate every day. Consumers spend most of their days on some form of technology, whether it be the computer used for work or the phone for downtime. The apps or sites most often used are social media. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even Pinterest are just a few of the sites many businesses are using to spread their brand awareness.

Wondering if you should follow the trend? Here are a few reasons why investing in a social media account grows businesses.

1. Real Feedback

Gaining customer feedback from social media campaigns leads to “real-time” understanding of the brand you’ve created. Understanding what is important to customers and what will have the most impact, improves future product designs.

Getting feedback from customers through social media is not only quick, but it’s also easy. With real-time responses, it’s now easier than ever to check how your brand is being received as well and understanding potential issues.

2. Brand Awareness

Having an online store, word of mouth, Google reviews, and advertisements increase brand awareness. Social media can add that extra edge: Instagram allows for stunning pictures of products, Twitter can offer quick updates on current projects, Facebook keeps customers in touch, and so on.

Each new item or blog post increases awareness across the board. Putting the word out on social media grows a consumer base. Social media will also affirm the brand’s area of expertise.

3. Customer Service

More often than not, customers will reach out through social media with questions or concerns. Twitter or Facebook are common forms of communication. Keep an eye on social channels, to provide excellent customer service. Unanswered questions leave a company in a bad light.

Offering quick feedback and solutions leaves customers feeling satisfied and presents a good company image to future customers. Word of mouth sales increase with great customer service; customers like to inform others of stellar brands that are quick with a replys and help.

4. Brand Trust

Showing care for customers online increases a company’s reputation. A constant online presence lets potential customers know that the company cares about their loyal patrons and fills them with trust for the brand.

5. Customer Engagement

There’s no better way to get customers engaged than social media. Struggling with a name for a new product? Offering incentives for the best name provides a flurry of new ideas as well as gives customers ownership of product development.

Customers who enjoy brands share new posts with friends and increase organic engagement, which leads to larger sales numbers.

6. Website Traffic

Sharing new blog articles, brand creations, and project updates boost website traffic. “Click on” links that customers are interested in will lead them to the company’s websites to explore other offerings.

Shareable posts reach a greater audience and thus a wider demographic of potential consumers. Having shareable links increases SEO as well as Google rankings. The greater the website traffic the better.

7. Reputation

Social Media is a great way to strengthen a business’s professional reputation.

Positive comments are a great way to gain positive publicity. Acknowledging complaints and issues swiftly and with grace shows professionalism and respectability.

Dual Pixel teamed up with Built Bar to create an engaging motion graphics video that showcases the delicious flavors of their protein bars. The concept revolved around a dynamic tornado of vibrant ingredients—such as nuts, chocolate, and fruit—being swirled together and packed into a Built Bar. This creative approach aimed to visually highlight the product's appeal while capturing the attention of potential customers.
